As a manager in Spark, you can create and manage proficiencies to ensure trainees are qualified for their role. This guide walks you through how to create and edit proficiencies, and how to link them to the right training content.
About proficiencies
Proficiencies connect a job role to the training content a trainee must complete to be considered proficient.
Each proficiency defines:
- The name of the proficiency.
- How long it remains valid (duration).
- Which training items must be completed.
Once set up, proficiencies ensure that your learners are assigned and tracked consistently across the organisation.

1. Create a proficiency
From the dashboard, click on the Activity tab.
From the dropdown, select Proficiencies.
Click + Create new proficiency.
If no proficiencies have been set up, you can click the blue button to create a new proficiency.
This will open the screen with the basic parameters associated with proficiencies.
